About

The Blue Guitar Dance Studio and Performance Space (originally called The Blue Guitar Gallery) opened March 10, 2007, to offer artists of all kinds – visual, performing, literary – a gathering place where they could meet each other – and the community at large – to exchange ideas, exhibit, collaborate, perform and teach.  Many exhibits and performances were multi–generational, often with members from the same family joining creative forces for the first time. Exhibits ranged from seasoned professionals to local school children. Even the local CISA, Mountain View Farm, put on an amazing show and installation, “Avant Gardeners.”

Originally housed in a smaller gallery space, where these monthly art openings were held, featuring performances inspired by or in collaboration with the artist, The Blue Guitar moved to a much larger space next door in August, 2008, enabling it to function as a dance studio and performance space.

The Blue Guitar is also home to The Bill O’Haire Guitar Studio, where children and adults learn the art of playing the guitar. Christina Svane teaches children’s classes in “Song, Story and Dance,” and there are dance classes  every evening, including Belly Dance, Zumba and improvisation/composition workshops.

If you would like to teach or perform at The Blue Guitar, please contact us. The space has a 25 x 48 foot sprung maple floor, mirrors with curtains, versatile as a yoga, dance and theater studio, and can be used lengthwise or widthwise, with chairs, cushions, stage curtain and adjustable track lights.

We welcome you to The Blue Guitar!
